What is the network key number needed to perform the unlock?

You need to obtain it from AT&T Customer Service. It’s specific to each phone.

This is when you get the message “phone can only be used with a specific sim enter unlock code or insert an approved sim”.

1) Remove SIM from BlackJack.
 2) Turn on the device and wait for the home screen to come up. You’ll get the prompt that there’s no SIM inserted, just select done.
 3) Type in this code: *2767*3855#

For Windows Mobile 6, you have a 300kb ringtone size limit in place. To circumvent this using a registry editor:

Go into HKEY_Current User -> ControlPanel -> Sounds -> FileSizeLimit (It’s a DWORD Value). Delete it. Go into your sounds menu, and you’ll be able to use your MP3 sounds that are in excess of 300kb. If you don’t like deleting registry entries, or if it doesn’t work for you, change the value to the max 1410065407. It should be plenty!

Remove Cingular text from homescreen

	* Copy homescreen from blackjack (\Application Data\Home\) to your computer.
	* Open the xml file with a text editor like notepad.
	* Where it says <title lang=”0×0409“> you should see the name of the homescreen. Change this to something else so you don’t have 2 of the same homescreen names.
	* Find the line that says <label>. Under this line there should be y value. This tells the phone how far vertically to put the text. Change the y value to 4…

There are many ways of getting contacts from friends or old/other devices. I will start the list with the ones I know of.

	* ActiveSync - This is the fastest if you want to copy all contacts, but your other device must be able to sync with outlook also,
 * Sync your other device with your outlook through using whatever method that device uses.
 * If that computer is not the one you plan on syncing to in the future, I would export the contacts in outlook and import them on the computer …
